The Adult Education Interview Series Project at the University of Central Oklahoma was born from the influence of TED talks and analogous videos in online and distance education programs. Recognizing a dearth of video resources concerning Adult and Continuing Education themes, the project was conceived. Its core concept involved capturing contemporary viewpoints from Adult Educators across the nation and creating an archive for integration into current and future Adult Education courses.
Commencing in the fall of 2015, the project initiated by interviewing Adult Education experts during the Research to Practice (R2P) Conference. It subsequently expanded to include the Self-Directed Learning Conference in the spring of 2016, as well as the 2016 R2P conference. In 2017, interviews were amassed at the Adult in Higher Education Alliance (AHEA) and Association for Nontraditional Students in Higher Education (ANTSHE) conferences.
