| Larry Murphy Scholarship |
 |
 |
The Larry Murphy Scholarship was established in memory of the founder and past-president of the Alliance. The scholarship is designated for a professional educator new to the profession who will be attending their first Alliance Conference. The scholarship includes a free conference registration and reimbursement of up to $750 for travel and lodging.
Criteria for Selection:
- The recipient holds an administrative or faculty position in an alternative degree program or other educational program serving adult learners;
- The recipient is relatively new to the field of higher education for the adult learner (fewer than five years);
- The recipient is committed to serving adult learners;
- The recipient does not have access to other financial support that would allow him/her to attend the conference.

| AHEA International Scholarships |

AHEA offers two international scholarships, available to applicants residing outside the United States of America who wish to attend the conference. They signify recognition of the benefit of shared international adult higher education practice and research to the conference process. |

AHEA International Professional Award |
 |
 |
The International Professional Award is designated for professional educators who are working in Adult Higher Education. The scholarship includes a free conference registration and reimbursement of up to $1000 for travel and lodging.
Criteria for Selection: The recipient
- Holds a faculty position in an alternative degree program or other education program serving adult learners;
- Has undertaken/published research in the field of adult education;
- Is committed to adult learners;
- Does not have access to other financial support that would allow him/her to attend the conference.

AHEA International Graduate Student Award |

The International Graduate Student Award is designated for graduate students who are studying in the field of Adult Higher Education. The scholarship includes a free conference registration and reimbursement of up to $1000 for travel and lodging.
Criteria for Selection: The recipient
- Is currently undertaking graduate or post graduate studies in the field of adult education;
- Is committed to adult learners;
- Does not have access to other financial support that would allow him/her to attend the conference.

| The Arthur Chickering Award |

The Arthur Chickering Award was established by the AHEA membership in 1999 to commemorate the contribution that Arthur Chickering has made to adult higher education. To acknowledge the value Dr. Chickering has placed on student-centered learning, The scholarship includes a free conference registration and reimbursement of up to $750 for travel and lodging.
Criteria for selection: The recipient
- Is actively registered in a graduate program, studying in the field of adult higher education;
- Does not have access to other financial support that would allow him/her to attend the conference.

| ALLIANCE Diversity Award |

The Alliance Diversity Award was established by the membership to underscore the organization's continued commitment to fostering and supporting diversity in adult profession. The scholarship includes a free conference registration and reimbursement of up to $750 for travel and lodging.
Criteria for selection: The recipient
- Must be a person of color who is working in an alternative degree program that serves adult learners;
- Is relatively new to the field of adult higher education (fewer than five years);
- Does not have access to other financial support which would allow him/her to attend the conference.

The application process:
To apply, send electronic files only. Nominations or letters of nomination must be submitted to Tessa McDonnell, Alliance Past President, Granite State College, through the following e-mail address: tessa.mcdonnell@granite.edu Subject: Scholarship Submission. Submission Deadline is June 30th. Recipients will be notified by July 31st.
In your letter, please provide your name, college/university affiliated and your role: faculty/administrator/student; and address the following questions:
- Which award are you applying for?
- How will attendance at this conference contribute to your long-term development?
- If appropriate, how will attendance at the conference be useful to your institution?
- Please provide a statement of financial need (if applicable to the scholarship).
- Request for a letter of recommendation supporting your application either from an immediate supervisor or a colleague.
All scholarship recipients must submit receipts of all expenses. |

| The Eugene Sullivan Award for Leadership |
 |
 |
This $500 award is offered by Edmap to honor the lifelong work of Eugene Sullivan and is designated for a person who has devoted his or her career to adult higher education. The honoree must demonstrate leadership either through publications or activities within adult higher education at either the national or international level. Nominations for this award should be forwarded to iowolabi@montreat.edu by June 30th. |
